Although German independent vehicle manufacturer Karmann closed its doors late last month as the company heads towards bankruptcy, latest reports say the move may not be final. Karmann has reportedly signed a $14 million deal with Volkswagen to assist with the development and supply of the VW’s future electric vehicles. This info was first reported by Germany’s Neue Osnabruecker Zeitung, which claims that Karmann will use the funds to organize a restructured company with 1,600 employees.

In an attempt to pass up another vehicle on the road one woman loses her life and leaves her passenger in critical condition. The tragedy happened around 2 o’clock Wednesday morning on the 2300 block of Coffee Port in Brownsville. The victim and driver of a Ford Mustang was identified as 21-year old, Erin Delgado. According to Brownville Police, Delgado tried to pass another vehicle. However, the vehicle flipped over repeatedly and finally stopped when it rammed into a tree.

The Javelin was a “pony car,” the same class as the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. As you might suspect, the Javelin was one of my favorite cars, so much so that upon graduation from Aircraft Maintenance Officers school in Illinois, I appropriated the name “Ferelda” for it from a classmate, who used the name for his car.
